Do you have a sample of what the children’s day would look like?A regular camp day follows a similar day of school. We have periods consisting of STEM, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, dance/theater, game room, movie room, computers and special events.

What is the staff to camper ratio?We follow NYC DOH ratio guidelines, the are different requirements for age groups however, we alway overstaffed and have a 5-6 camper per counselor ratio.

What happens if my child has an allergy or medical concern?As part of the registration process we ask that you inform us if your child has any allergies or medical concerns. Our nurse will make sure all Epi Pens, medication..etc are properly cared for. While we are not a peanut free facility, we do have a separate lunch section in the back of our cafeteria for allergy needs.

Does the camp provide breakfast and snacks to the children?No. You provide lunch, snacks and drinks for your campers. We have water stations located around the campus.

I see wet and wild days for the activities, does the camp allow the children to go swimming?We do not have a pool so there the campers do not go swimming. However we do have water activities, including inflatable water slides...etc. Campers come dressed in their bathing suits and all water activities are done in the afternoon. Campers do not get changed at camp. At the end of the activities, the campers towel dry and get ready for pick up.

Do you have medical staff onsite?There is a Registered Nurse on site every day

Similar to school, do you provide a “blue card” for emergency contacts and for who is allowed to pick up my child?Yes, you provide all contact information in your online portal.

Will my children be at the OLSS Campus the entire time or are there trips included that will have them off the premises?We do not take any trips. All Activities are located on the OLSS campus

What if I have to pick my child up early from camp?Not a problem. You can easily communicate with your child's counselor through the iCare app to inform them of your pickup time. Alternatively, you can call the camp at 718-984-5750 to let us know. We do kindly request that all pickups be completed before 2 PM, as our afternoon transitions are quite busy while we wrap up the day's activities and prepare for dismissal. Do you have an open house where I can come and visit the facility?Yes we do. We will host open houses in February and March. We will post the dates once they are set.

What are the hours for Camp?Camp runs from 9:00am to 3:30 pm each day.

Do you offer extended hours?Yes we do. Extended hours are billed at $15 per hour used and it is automatically calculated in our iCare Child Care App. Early drop off is from 7:30-8:50 am and extended care is from 3:30-5:00 pm. No advance notice is necessary, you can just drop off campers early or leave them at camp for extended care.

What are the ages of the camp counselors?Head counselors are College students and junior counselors are 17 and up.

How are the campers organized?All campers are grouped with the grade they will be entering in the fall and classes are not co-ed. Grades are not mixed from Kindergarten through 5th grade. We do mix grades in grade 6th through 8th. For example in each grade we will have two groups: A 2nd Grade Girls class and a 2nd Grade Boys class. 6th -8th Grade Girls Class and 6th to 8th Grade Boys Class In the event that we need to create more than one class in an age group, we will reach out to ensure that friends are in the same class.

What age does your camp start accepting campers?We start accepting campers who are turning 4 and entering Pre K 4 at the start of the school year in September following camp. The must be potty trained. Our camps runs through 8th grade.

How do I register?Registration is done online through our software iCare ChildCare app. If your children attended camp previously, simply log into your account at www.icaresoftware.com. Once logged in update any required fields, and then click on Program/Classes on the right side. From there you can choose your weeks. If you are new to camp this year please make sure you fill out our contact info form by visiting our Registration page and we will send you a registration link.

Do I have to register for the whole summer or can I choose my weeksWe want to offer the most flexibility we can for our families and provide you with options to best meet your needs. You can choose from the following options when registering. All six weeks of Camp (5 days per week) - Does not include our bonus week the week of 4th of July and provides you with the best overall value. Choose your weeks (5 Days per week) - register for any of the six weeks of camp Choose your weeks (3 Day Week Option 1) - Register for any of the six weeks of camp and attend Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Choose your weeks (3 Day Week Option 2) - Register for any of the six weeks of camp and attend Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

How does the Early Bird Special work?Register online and make sure you are paid in full by April 30th. Up until that point you can choose to pay how much and how often you would like.

How do I pay?When registering, you can pay online or you can choose to bring cash or check to one of our designated open house/payment drop off days. When paying online you can choose to use a credit card, ACH/Bank Debit, online check or cash or check as mentioned above. When paying with a credit card the credit card processing fee of 2.95% will be added to your bill. ACH/Bank Debit is free and there is a .25 cent charge for online checks.

Is there a deposit required?Yes there is a $100 deposit fee per child that is required to hold your spot. Keep in mind our younger grades all fill up very quickly.

Do you offer sibling discounts?Yes we do! However you must register your children for all six weeks of camp to receive the sibling discount.

When do I need to pay by?All registrations must be paid in full by June 1st. If it is not paid in full by June 1st your child or children, will be removed from their camp schedule and their spot will be lost.
